Where our parts run

ConverNova supplies custom transformers, inductors and common mode chokes to automotive and EV, renewable energy, charging and solid state transformers, aerospace and defense, pulsed power and big science, and medical and industrial equipment. Each sector brings its own qualification path, its own temperature range and its own paperwork, and the design starts from those, not from a catalog part that happens to fit.

By industry

Six worlds, one way of working.

Automotive and EV

On board chargers, DC-DC converters and traction auxiliaries. Magnetics for 400 V and 800 V architectures, designed for the vibration profile and the thermal cycling the vehicle actually sees.

Standards
AEC-Q200 qualification path, IATF supply chain requirements
Typical
OBC transformers, DC-DC planar magnetics, PFC chokes, EMI filtering

What drives the design in this sector

Renewable energy

MPPT stages, grid tie inverters, electrolysers and battery energy storage. High efficiency matters here in a way it does not elsewhere: a point of efficiency is revenue over twenty years.

Standards
Grid codes, EN and IEC safety isolation
Typical
Boost inductors, isolation transformers, line filters

What drives the design in this sector

Charging, transport and SST

Fast charge stacks, solid state transformer stages and fuel cell converters. Power density is the constraint, so planar construction and litz windings earn their cost.

Standards
IEC 61851 and the isolation your architecture asks for
Typical
DAB and CLLC transformers, resonant inductors, SST cell magnetics

What drives the design in this sector

Aerospace and defense

Airborne and ground power conversion, where the paperwork is part of the part. Full traceability, and materials chosen for altitude and for temperature extremes.

Standards
MIL-STD-981, MIL-PRF-27, DO-160
Temperature
Minus 55 to plus 125 degrees C

What drives the design in this sector

Pulsed power and big science

Pulsed systems, high current magnet supplies, klystron and RF stages for particle physics and fusion research. Repetition rate and peak current drive the design, not average power.

Typical
Pulse transformers, high current chokes, precision converters
Volumes
Often one, which is exactly what no MOQ is for

What drives the design in this sector

Medical and industrial

Isolation to medical creepage and leakage current limits, plus drives, welding and process power where the duty cycle is brutal and the efficiency point is contractual.

Standards
IEC 60601 isolation for medical, IEC 61558 and EN for industrial
Typical
Reinforced isolation transformers, filter chokes, gate drive magnetics

Send the specification anyway. If a qualification path is outside what we can support, we will say so on day one rather than at week six.
